Chris Hieb

Managing Director, DC Advisory

Based in San Francisco, Chris is a Managing Director at DC Advisory US, specializing in Customer Interaction Management and Infrastructure Software/SaaS groups. He has more than 20 years of investment banking, consulting, project management and operational experience with high-tech companies. Chris has advised clients on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions with highly active buyers and financial sponsors, focusing on Advanced Analytics, Contact Center Software Infrastructure, and Enterprise Software sectors. He also authors the firm’s Customer Interaction Management (CIM) Platform and Adjacencies Landscape, an overview of the CIM market, along with the CIM Investment Thesis. Chris has also self-published two books on the subject entitled, “Customer Interaction Management Platform Thesis Insights I and II.”

Prior to joining DC Advisory, Chris spent more than seven years building the M&A practice at Pacific Crest Securities. He began his investment banking career at SoundView Technology Group, before moving on to W.R. Hambrecht as the Head of West Coast M&A, and then to Oppenheimer as the Head of West Coast M&A, prior to joining Pacific Crest as the Co-Head of M&A in 2008.

Before his career in investment banking, Chris spent a decade in the fields of nuclear technology and advanced materials including work at several U.S. nuclear facilities, followed by an appointment to the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations.

Chris received a B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University and conducted course study in Economics and the Analysis of Competitive Markets at California Polytechnic State University. Learn More

David is a Managing Director of TM Capital Corp., headquartered in our Atlanta office. David’s expertise encompasses a range of transaction types and spans industry verticals including textiles, building products, consumer/retail and industrial services. He is highly regarded as an architect of portfolio company divestitures for many well respected middle-market private equity firms and is a frequent panel speaker at middle-market M&A industry conferences.

Prior to joining TM, David was a Managing Director at Brookwood Associates, where for over a decade he focused primarily on middle-market M&A advisory. Previously, he was a founding partner at Equity Capital Partners and a Director at Prudential Securities Investment Banking, where he spearheaded the growth of Prudential’s successful Consumer/Industrials Industry Practice Group.

David holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

David lives on the northern edge of Atlanta with his wife and a great group of friends. When they aren’t there, you can find them at their cabin in the North Georgia Mountains or at the Gulf Coast. It is also a full-time job keeping up with the travel, work, and life experiences of their two married daughters. David enjoys playing golf and tennis and wishes he could play more often. He is the author of “Swing Thoughts,” a book observing the intersections of golf and faith. He delights in his role as “ops guy” for a men’s retreat ministry Souly Business, which has hosted over 60 weekends and engaged with almost 6,000 men. During the fall David remains a steadfast fan of the Tennessee and University of Virginia football teams and believes weathering the ups and downs of the seasons is great training for his chosen profession. Ashley Groves 

CEO, Deaglo

Ashley has expertise across all aspects of a cross-border transaction having spent over 15 years in a wide variety of FX industry roles in both Europe and North America. He saw a need within his extensive global investor network to simplify the way cross-border transactions were handled, and is often engaged to speak on foreign exchange strategies and the economy at networking and partner events.

Prior to founding Deaglo, Ashley was a Director for 10 years at AFEX one of the largest providers of foreign exchange payments in the world. There he was responsible for the acquisition, management and maintenance of corporate, institutional and high net worth clients. Ashley created and led the institutional sales team at AFEX and whilst under his watch, the team doubled revenues annually, developing a network and expertise across a variety of industries, including alternative investments.

Ashley is an avid rower, and has rowed in regattas across the UK and US at both collegiate and club level. He lives in New Jersey and spends as much time as he can with his wife, daughter and son. Learn More

Binyomin "Ben" Kaplan

Binyomin (Ben) Kaplan is a Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Cantor Fitzgerald. He joined the firm in 2011 and, among many other corporate legal responsibilities, handles proprietary domestic and international M&A activity for the firm and its affiliates.

Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Kaplan served as Counsel at the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster, LLP, where he was primarily responsible for providing domestic and international M&A legal advice and representation. Mr. Kaplan began his career in the corporate department of the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
